Fenestration
DuraLam® fabrics and tapes are used in the fenestration industry on the welders that bond the vinyl extrusions of new and replacement windows and doors. The tapes and fabrics cover the heated platens to prevent the hot PVC from sticking to the plates.
The ideal products for this application are AFC DuraLam® 25-05 fabric and 255-055. Both products are specifically engineered to maximize product life, while minimizing down time in the welding production process. Our proprietary coating formulation was developed to reduce abrasion, increase lubricity and prevent leaching into the materials. In tests carried out in the PVC window industry, our products have been shown to last significantly longer than equivalent products from other manufacturers. We can supply product in full width, slit rolls or fabricated pieces.
Although the individual properties of AFC products are remarkable, it is their unique combination in one material that renders them suitable for applications in the fenestration industry because of the following features:
