AFC Granted QPL Approval for Mil-I-19166C Insulation Tape

Lake In The Hills, IL –– March 19, 2009--- Advanced Flexible Composites, Inc. (AFC) has received qualification from the Department of The Navy on DuraStick® 380-07 and 380-10 to Mil-I-19166C/AMD-1. These tapes consist of a tightly woven, high tensile fiberglass cloth coated with a high-temperature silicone adhesive. Series 380 tapes possess a high thermal rating, are flame retardant, abrasion and edge tear resistant, conformable, and provide superior solvent resistance. AFC’s is one of just a few tapes producers whose products meet the stringent demands of DOD’s QPL requirements. Typical applications for these products are as electrical and electronic splicing, wrapping and insulating as well as an economical thermal spray tape. Series 380 is available in either full widths or slit rolls.

We are especially satisfied that our DuraStick® 380-10 10 Mil tape passed the Department of Navy’s testing. We are currently one of only two approved sources for this product.
