New DuraLam® Fabrics and DuraStick® Tapes
for use in PVC Welding

Lake In The Hills, IL –– April 29, 2005 --- Advanced Flexible Composites, Inc. (AFC) has introduced its new DuraLam® 25 Gold Series of Fabrics and DuraStick® 255 Gold Series of Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Tapes for use when welding PVC profiles in the vinyl window and door industry. DuraLam® Gold Fabrics are manufactured from Teflon® coated woven fiberglass substrates using AFC’s proprietary coating formulation. DuraStick® Gold Tapes have the added benefit of a super release silicone pressure sensitive adhesive system. Both series of products are used on the welders that bond the vinyl extrusions of new and replacement windows to prevent the hot PVC from sticking to the plates. The DuraStick® tapes cover the platen, where the miter of the window gets heated to weld it to the opposite vinyl piece. The DuraLam® fabrics are fabricated into pad covers. These pads cover most of the platen and are attached with a tong. Their non-stick and high temperature properties make these products an ideal solution in this application. AFC’s gold PTFE materials have maximized application life up to 30% to 50% longer, while minimizing down time and reducing cost in the welding operations.
