Advanced Flexible Composites, Inc. and Whitford Worldwide Announces International Joint Venture (WFC) & Technology Exchange and Supply Agreement
September 27, 2006--- Advanced Flexible Composites, Inc. (“AFC”) of Lake in the Hills, IL, and Whitford Worldwide of Frazer, Pennsylvania have announced the formation of Whitford Flexible Composites (“WFC”) an international joint venture. WFC will service the European and other international markets. WFC will provide high-performance coated and laminated fabrics, belting and pressure sensitive tapes from Whitford’s facility in Runcorn, Cheshire, England.
In addition to the creation of WFC, AFC and Whitford have established a supply and technology exchange agreement for North America. This agreement will make use of Whitford’s ability to conceive and develop nonstick coating and AFC’s capability to process high performance fabrics. The objective of this partnership will be to quickly develop innovative products and solutions to customers’ requirements and problems.
AFC’s founder and CEO William Lewis says:

AFC, founded in 1988, is a family-owned and operated company that has become a world leader in the manufacture of high-performance coated and laminated fabrics The company designs and manufactures PTFE and silicone coated fabrics and belting, along with an extensive line of pressure sensitive tapes, for use in diverse applications. Whitford, founded in 1969, manufactures the world’s largest, most complete line of fluoropolymer coatings. It has a network of ten manufacturing facilities in seven countries, sales offices in eight countries and agents in an additional 25. Whitford products serve six principal markets that include the consumer, industrial, chemical, rubber, textiles and medical industries. In July of 2004, Whitford entered a seventh market (adhesives) with the purchase of Polymeric Systems, Inc., a leading manufacturer of epoxy adhesives and flexible sealants.
